Westword, Herman's Hideaway, and Colorado Sound Studios, are ALL for local music. 32 of the best and well know bands in denver shot it out earlier this year to see who is THE BEST OF THE WEST!!! The grand prize winner was the deserving and great live local band The Epilogues. The band will be recording an EP produced by our very own JP Manza, and a full blown concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater.

*NEW* Hello Kavita has just finished recording, and mixing in studio A with Producer/Engineer Jesse O'Brien. Hello Kavita wanted a throw-back, retro sound so the whole project was tracked to 24 track 2" tape and mixed to 2 track 1/2in tape! Sounds wonderfully warm and has a vintage yet modern feel. *NEW* Aaron Watson, Stopped by and recorded vocals for his latest album with producer/engineer Jesse O'Brien in Studio A. Sharing the stage with country legends such as Willie Nelson, Aaron genuinely knows the true meaning of country, and his songwriting and lyrics directly reflect that. Check him out!!

This fully-equipped remote recording truck has been rockin’ and rollin' non-stop since it’s conception. The toybox remote recording truck is used to professionally record live concert performances, live broadcasts for radio and the internet, and audio for video shoots.

toybox remote recording was hired to record the 2 main stages at the Mile High Music Festival, which is the largest music festival Colorado has seen. A few artist toybox recorded at the festival include: Widespread Panic, The Fray, Ben Harper, Tool, Jet, and Buddy Guy, just to name a few.
Some of toybox’s other recording projects include, Black Eyed Peas at the DNC, Randy Travis in New Mexico, Trey Anastasio at Red Rocks, The Colorado Symphony at Beotcher Concert Hall, Norah Jones at Red Rocks, Yellowcard, Drive By Truckers, G3 Tour, Jonny Lang, and Panic At The Disco! *NEW* Tom Capek recently finished Dotsero's live CD which is now on the shelves selling like crazy. Tom played keys, edited tracks and mastered the album here in Studio B.

David Wilcox worked with Tom in Studio B mastering his latest CD "Airstream". Airstream is a musical journey that will surely inspire you you to pack up and hit the road.

Tom Capek has also mastered projects such as Steven Lynch, Todd Fancey, These United States, and Vic Cionetti.



Colorado Sounds New Gear

Colorado Sound is continuing to upgrade our ProTools HD3 system with the newest ProTools version 8.0. Colorado Sound has also added the Manley Voxbox, the Neve 8801 producers Channel Strip, the Neve 8804 Stereo EQ, and 6 API 512 C mic preamps. The Manley Voxbox adds warmth and color, while the 512 API preamps are sonically at the top of the list.
Also recently added to our already extensive digital plug-ins, Melodyne plug-in, and the Oxford Limiter. We have several new microphones in our arsenal: 2 Stereo matched Neumann Tube M 147's, 2 stereo paired Neumann U-87s, 2 stereo paired DPA 4011's, the Royer 121 ribbon mic,and 2 phantom powered Royer 122 ribbon mics. We also recently added 3 API 560 graphic EQ's and 2 API 550 Parametric EQ's
